ABOUT
Elizabeth Palmer’s work sees the weaving of speculative fictional narratives into found object sculpture and installation as a method of navigating the complex web of contemporary discourse surrounding the end of the world and its many forms. Taking influence from video games, literature and real-world events, Palmer works with found objects to craft sculptures and immersive installations. These displays acknowledge the agency of the found objects, thereby entangling stories of the speculative dystopic with a plethora of established everyday contexts presented in forms such as museological display and archival material. In challenging anthropocentrism, Palmer’s distinctly human-less arrangements hold space for confrontation of issues in contemporary life and the potentialities of the scales tipping out of humanity's favour.
